COVID-19 cases in Cavite up 43 percent from last week — OCTA

The OCTA Research Group reported on Monday that COVID-19 disease infections in Cavite had increased by 43 percent from the previous week, or by an average of 878 cases per day.

According to their latest data, there was an increase from August 8 to 14, compared to the 615 reported cases from August 1 to 7.

With this number, the province ranked third in the Philippines in terms of the highest average number of new daily cases, trailing only Metro Manila and Cebu.

The independent research group also noted that the province’s COVID-19 average daily attack rate (ADAR) is high, at 20.39 cases per 100,000 people.

OCTA added that ICU beds in the Cavite are in critical stage with 91 percent occupied and its hospital bed occupancy is 73 percent full. 

As of August 16, the province has recorded 69,277 COVID-19 cases, 9,239 of this are active, 58,250 are already recovered, and 1,788 died.
