While it is not entirely new, streetwear is a fashion trend that still conquers the street style landscape today. The historic town of Kawit in Cavite is no exception to the places where a lot of homegrown brands have gained quite a following because of their stylish and youthful designs. Here are some of the local shops that give us a go-to streetwear concept like no other:
Degraded
Don’t judge the apparel by its name. Young owner of Degraded, 19-year-old Dan Harvey, explains the brand is inspired from his life experiences where he felt belittled. Rest assured, he’s proud to say that their shirts may be underrated yet delivers high-end clothing experience thanks to its quality fabrics.

GoodHabit
It was literally a dream that later came true for Theo, 24, who founded this local brand in July last year. Apart from the others in this list, GoodHabit has incorporated designs from Japanese and Chinese culture.

Hopeless
Hopeless is a relatively new streetwear brand established back in the early days of strict lockdown last year. Although it may seem to carry negative vibes, it contradicts the meaning of its name, according to its founder 20-year-old Jomar. Some of its statement tees tell relatable quotes and they also have tees inspired by the iconic children’s show Sesame Street.

Truth be told, popular streetwear brands often come to one’s mind when talking about street style fashion. However, there are also others that are equally eye-catching just like the ones mentioned in this list. Give them a chance and they will surely be your next closet staples
