Avelino Borromeo Lim Jr.

April 1, 1962 – December 23, 2023

PBA Legend Samboy “The Skywalker” Lim passed away on December 23 at the age of 61, due to complications arising from a heart attack.

Ronaldo Valdez

November 27, 1947 – December 17, 2023

Veteran film and television actor Ronaldo Valdez passed away on December 17 at the age of 76, allegedly due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Sammy Manese

2008 – November 29, 2023

Social media content creator Sammy Manese, known for his funny skits, pranks, and lifestyle videos, passed away at the age of 15 on November 29. His death was confirmed by his sister, Bea Manese.

Mali

Vishwa Ma’ali, popularly known as Mali, the last remaining elephant of Manila Zoo, was estimated to be 43 when she died on Tuesday, November 29, 2023, due to congestive heart failure.

Conrado de Quiros

May 27, 1951 – November 6, 2023

Veteran journalist, author, and columnist Conrado de Quiros died on November 6 at the age of 72, having recently suffered a stroke. Quiros’s death was confirmed by his brother, Paul de Quiros, in a Facebook post.

Juan Jumalon

August 2, 1966 – November 5, 2023

Filipino radio broadcaster Juan Jumalon was killed during a live airing for 94.7 Gold Mega Calamba FM. Jumalon passed away at the age of 57, and his death was caught on both Facebook livestream and CCTV camera.

Matthew Perry

August 19, 1969 – October 28, 2023

Matthew Perry, who famously played Chandler Bing in the hit ’90s sitcom FRIENDS, has died after an apparent drowning, as reported by international news outlets. Perry died at the age of 54 from the “acute effects of ketamine,” according to an autopsy report.

Bayani Fernando

Former MMDA Chairman and Marikina City Mayor Bayani Fernando passed away at 77 on Friday, September 22, and the cause of his death was a tragic accident.

Susan ‘Toots’ Ople

February 9, 1962 – August 22, 2023

Migrant Workers Secretary and longtime OFW advocate Susan “Toots” Ople passed away on Tuesday, August 22, at around 1 p.m. Ople had been battling breast cancer, and she died at 61.

Miguel Castro “Mike” Enriquez

September 29, 1951 – August 29, 2023

Veteran broadcast journalist and news pillar Mike Enriquez has passed away at the age of 72. One of the mainstays of GMA News and Public Affairs, Enriquez had a kidney transplant surgery in 2021 and underwent a heart bypass surgery in 2018.

Balltze of Cheems “Doge”

January 9, 2011 – August 18, 2023

Viral ‘Doge Meme’ dog Cheems Balltze died at the age of 12 during his thoracentesis surgery. The dog owner wrote on his Instagram account, “He fell asleep on Friday morning during his last thoracentesis surgery. Originally, we wanted to arrange chemotherapy or other possible treatment for him after this operation, but it’s too late.”

Angie Ferro

August 4, 1937 – August 17, 2023

Award-winning veteran actress Angie Ferro, who led contemporary films “Lola Igna” and “Ang Mga Kaibigan ni Mama Susan,” passed away on Thursday, August 17, as confirmed by her family. She was 86.

John Regala

September 12, 1967 – June 3, 2023

Award-winning Filipino actor John Regala died due to cardiac arrest from liver and kidney complications. He was 55 years old. Regala’s niece confirmed his death.

Tina Turner

November 26, 1939 – May 24, 2023

Tina Turner, a singer, songwriter, actress, and pioneering rock’n’roll star, passed away at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland.
