Three municipalities in Cavite were recognized for their efforts to promote educational programs during the awarding ceremony of the first Gawad Edukampyon for Local Governance at Novotel Manila, Araneta City in Quezon City on Friday, June 3.
Among the recipients is the municipality of Carmona, headed by Mayor Roy Loyola, which received an award in the municipality category for Gawad Edukampyon for Capacity Development.

The ceremony highlighted Carmona’s “Husay Barangay: Barangay Administration and Governance Intensification Program,” a series of training designed to increase the knowledge and capacity of barangay-level leaders.
The municipalities of Tanza and Noveleta, meantime, got the Gawad Edukampyon Award for Early Childhood and Care Development (ECCD) – Municipality Level.
Tanza and Noveleta got an average of 73.50 percent and 59.50 percent, respectively, earning them recognition for their outstanding public service in providing early childhood care.

The Gawad Edukampyon for Local Governance Awards recognized local government units, and institutions for “going the extra mile in developing and implementing innovative programs in support of the DepEd’s learning continuity plan.”
