CAVITE – Some hospitals in the province of Cavite will temporarily not accept new patients for a week after a number of its medical staff tested positive for COVID-19.

In a report by ABS-CBN News, Governor Jonvic Remulla said that those eight provincial and city hospitals are currently understaffed due to the surge of coronavirus cases.

“One week kami nag-decide hindi muna [tatanggap ng pasyente] hangga’t malaman namin ang sitwasyon,” Remulla said.

The ABS-CBN News report said those hospitals are in Dasmariñas City, Trece Martires City, Bacoor City, Kawit, Maragondon and Gen. Mariano Alvarez.

In the same interview, Remulla stated that private hospitals are also at critical levels after hitting 95% of occupancy rate.

In a Facebook post, the governor reiterated that hospitals in the province remain full and admission is still difficult.

Remulla also urged his fellow Cavitenos to take extra precautions as the coronavirus cases continue to rise.

“Mag-ingat ng todo… Walang bulletproof sa COVID. Kahit bata pa ay tinatamaan,” he said.
