Cavite joins nationwide ‘bike for peace and justice’ campaign

Some cyclists and government personnel from various towns in the province of Cavite took part in the nationwide “Bike for Justice and Peace” campaign on Saturday, July 17.

KAWIT, Cavite – Some cyclists and government personnel from various towns in the province of Cavite took part in the nationwide “Bike for Justice and Peace” campaign on Saturday, July 17.

From the town of Kawit, some residents from Brgy. Wakas 1 cycled nearly 24 kilometers as part of their participation in this event.

Meanwhile, Maragondon Municipal Police personnel led by Captain Jerry Flores, ACOP, together with United Cavite Bikers, made the rounds within their jurisdiction.

Police officers from Imus City, Magallanes, and Indang, on the other hand, also joined in this simultaneous activity.

The event sought to demand peace and justice for all victims of the Communist Party of the Philippines – New People’s Army – National Democratic Front, particularly the deaths of Far Eastern University football player Kieth Absalon and his cousin Noven Absalon in Masbate City.

On June 6, an improvised explosive device detonated along a road in Brgy. Anas while the cousins were biking with their family.
