Candidates in Cavite join movement for peaceful, safe elections

A campaign dubbed as “Kasimbayanan: Kawani, Simbahan, at Pamayanan” was launched simultaneously in Cavite on Wednesday to ensure peaceful and safe national and local elections.

Local candidates in Cavite on February 25 participated in the simultaneous launch of a campaign aiming to ensure a peaceful and safe conduct of the upcoming elections.

The program, anchored in the theme “Kasimbayanan: Kawani, Simbahan, at Pamayanan,” was led by local police and military officials, religious groups, the Commission on Elections, and the Department of Interior and Local Government.

In Kawit, Vice Governor Jolo Revilla, Mayor Angelo Aguinaldo, 1st District Board Member Davey Reyes Chua, and other local candidates under their lineup walked from the historic Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo Shrine to the St. Mary Magdalene Church.

The attendees lit candles before signing the Comelec’s pledge of integrity and a peace covenant.

The ceremony culminated with the benediction for the candidates and the releasing of white doves.

Other local bets in the town did not attend the said event. The same ceremony was also held in other parts of the province at the same day.
