Dasmariñas mega isolation facility inaugurated

Dasmariñas City inaugurated its first-ever LGU-funded COVID-19 isolation facility, Oct. 5.

The city government of Dasmariñas officially opened on Tuesday, October 5, a nearly 170-bed Mega Isolation Facility in Brgy. Humayao, Langkaan II.

According to city mayor Jenny Barzaga, the local government has funded this project, which could be the first LGU-owned COVID-19 isolation facility in Cavite province.

“Inaasahan na mas malaking tulong ito sa sinumang pasyente upang mas mabilis na maka rekober sa sakit at mapanatili ang magandang kalusugan at pangangatawan bago makabalik sa kanilang pamilya,” Barzaga said in a Facebook post.

“Ibibigay ng lokal na pamahalaan ang lahat ng pangangailangan simula sa araw ng pagdala sa pasilidad katulad ng; pagkain, gamot, atbp. hanggang sa huling araw ng pagpapagaling at mabigyan ng clearance na makauwe sa pamilya.”

Aside from the four buildings for isolation rooms, the facility also has its own pharmacy and quarters for medical staff.

The inauguration and blessing were led by Barzaga, Vice Mayor Rex Mangubat, and other city officials, and took place in conjunction with the celebration of Dasmarinas Day.

As of October 5, Dasmariñas City reported a total of 23,760 COVID-19 cases, 679 of which are still active, 22,865 have already been recovered, and 216 have died.
