Noveleta Mayor Dino Chua filed a complaint with the Commission on Elections (Comelec), questioning his son Dhino Paredes Chua Jr.’s permanent and voting residency.

In his formal letter, Mayor Chua, lodged his objection to the voter registration application of his son, stating that the younger Chua does not reside in the mentioned address in Remelville Subdivision in Noveleta.

Mayor Chua, who is also part of the Board of Directors of the Home Owners Association of the subdivision, said that it seems “untimely” as he has learned about his son’s political interest, which he dislikes as a father since his son is still in high school.

“As his father, I want him to finish his academic studies first before entering politics [so] as not to ruin his education,” the local chief executive said.

Meanwhile, in a Facebook post, Chua Jr. expressed his distress towards his father’s action against him. The younger Chua insisted that he has been living in the said subdivision for a long time.

“Pina-disqualify ninyo ako kasi akala ninyo [na] I don’t live there. Mahirap po talaga ‘yung hindi ninyo ako napalaki kasi you don’t even know I stay there. Matagal na po,” he stated.

“Nasasaktan po ako, pero alam niyo po, you have just given me more reasons to be stronger. Tuloy po ang laban ko… Allow me to make this legal. See you po in court,” he added.
