Several towns in Cavite have been classified as either at high or critical risk for COVID-19, according to the latest weekly report of OCTA research.
Based on August 7 to 13 data, Tanza and the cities of Bacoor, Imus, Dasmariñas, and Gen. Trias are among the top 40 local government units (LGUs) in the country with highest weekly cases.

Imus has the highest average daily attack rate (ADAR) in the province at 29.20 cases per 100,000 individuals, followed by Gen. Trias at 25.55, Bacoor at 24.58, Tanza at 22.28 and Dasmariñas at 16.33.
Furthermore, the ICU occupancy in those aforementioned areas is generally at critical level.
Meanwhile, Cavite has reported more than 1,000 daily COVID-19 cases from three consecutive days, the first time it had happened since the pandemic started.

The province has recorded 1,084 active cases on August 11, 1,019 on August 12, and 1,095 on August 13, surpassing its highest record of 994 cases last April this year.
The independent research group also observed that the province’s weekly infection rate increased from 1.76 percent to 1.83 percent.
As of now, Cavite is still under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) until the end of August.
