The tragic loss of Elaiza Gebrielle Tesoro not only took her life but also her bright future.

According to her aunt, Elaiza had dreamed of becoming a doctor someday and her family is now grieving her loss.

In a Facebook post, one of Elaiza’s aunts, Niña Manaig Avilla – Papa, mentioned that her niece had planned to pursue a career in medicine after graduating from Cavite State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.

“Ang sabi ko sayo igihan mo para may future Doctor na tayo ellapot! Hanggang sa huling sandali nag rereview ikaw para sa future, Napakasakit ella,” her aunt said.

The family also asked that no images or videos of the tragic accident be uploaded in order to respect their privacy and validate their despair.

Elaiza was the lone fatality and one of the five students who suffered in the tragedy that happened at the CvSU main campus in Indang, Cavite on Monday.

The police report stated that the vehicle was parked in the Saluysoy Resort area by its driver, Federico Baculan, while unloading gallons of water. Suddenly, it advanced and hit five students who were studying for an upcoming exam.

The three teenagers were brought to the hospital for immediate treatment, while the other, who had minor injuries, declined to be admitted.

The driver is now under the custody at the Indang Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.

The CvSU administration released a statement expressing sympathy and sadness over the tragedy. They assured the public that the university would provide necessary support to the victims and their families.

CvSU President Hernando Robles also signed a memorandum temporarily suspending the conduct of final examinations until further notice.

That evening, a group of students gathered on campus for a candle lighting ceremony to express their sympathies to their fellow CvSUenos who had been affected by the tragedy.
