Filing of COCs for Barangay, SK elections set on July 3 to 7

Candidates for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) may file their Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) starting from July 3 until 7.

The filing of Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) will be on July 3 to 7, according to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC).

Based on COMELEC’s Resolution No. 10899, the election period would be from July 3 to Nov. 14.

During the election period, the COMELEC indicated that it is not allowed to bear, carry, or transport firearms or other deadly weapons in public places; use of security personnel; alteration of territory of a precinct or establishment of a new precinct; raising of funds; vote-buying and vote-selling; wagering upon result of election; coercing, threatening, intimidating or terrorizing any election official; illegal release of prisoners before and after elections; and suspension of local elective officials.

Campaign activities are prohibited from July 8 until Oct. 18.

On the other hand, the campaign period will start on Oct. 19 to 28.

The election day will be on Oct. 30, from 7 am to 3 pm.

The last day of filing of Statements of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE) will be on Nov. 29.
