Malacañang declares April 10 holiday for Eid’l Fitr

Malacañang has declared April 10, 2024 as a national holiday in observance of Eid’l Fitr or the end of the Feast of Ramadan.

Malacañang has declared April 10, 2024 as a national holiday in observance of Eid’l Fitr or the end of the Feast of Ramadan.

This was based on Proclamation No. 514, which was signed by Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

“In order to bring the religious and cultural significance of the Eid’l Fitr to the fore of national consciousness, and to allow the entire Filipino nation to join their Muslim brothers and sisters in peace and harmony in the observance and celebration of Eid’l Fitr, it is necessary to declare Wednesday, 10 April 2024, a regular holiday throughout the country,” based on the proclamation.

Moreover, April 9, 2024 is also a holiday in observance of Araw ng Kagitingan or Day of Valor.
