Fisherfolk receive P6.125M emergency employment aid from DOLE

More than 1,000 disadvantaged workers in CALABARZON impacted by Typhoon Carina and the temporary fishing ban received P6.125 million in emergency employment assistance through the TUPAD Program of the DOLE last August 7.

Over 1,000 disadvantaged workers in CALABARZON affected by typhoon Carina and temporary fishing ban received P6.125 million emergency employment aid through the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) Program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) last August 7.

According to the DOLE, 1,178 fisherfolk benefitted from the emergency employment aid led by Labor Assistant Secretary Warren M. Miclat and DOLE CALABARZON Regional Director Atty. Roy L. Buenafe in Tanza, Cavite.

Assistant Secretary Miclat conveyed DOLE’s commitment to aiding workers impacted by recent calamities.

On the other hand, Regional Director Buenafe emphasized the swift implementation of TUPAD to provide immediate assistance.
