Schools Division of Imus City, local NGOs lead blood donation drive

A total of 216 blood bags were collected from the SDO Imus City’s “ Dugo Ko, ALay Ko para sa Bidang Imuseño” bloodletting campaign, March 19.

IMUS CITY, Cavite – The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Imus City has partnered with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Cavite Chapter, Rotary Club of Imus, and Inner Wheel Club Mutya ng Imus for a bloodletting program at the Gov. D.M. Camerino Integrated School last March 19.

Around 300 school personnel, police forces and parents participated in the “Dugo Ko, Alay Ko para sa Bidang Imuseño” campaign and a total of 216 bags of blood were collected from them.

SDO Imus City Superintendent Dr. Rosemarie Torres shared the importance of participating in blood donation drives.

“This is the day where we can manifest our love and concern to our brothers and sisters who will be in need of blood in the future,” Torres stated in her speech.

Inner Wheel Club Mutya ng Imus President Jelyn Maliksi, moreover, encouraged the constituents of the city to continue to work together against adversities especially this time of pandemic. 

Furthermore, the PRC will distribute the said donations to the Cavite and Dasmariñas Chapter 99 and 117 blood bags, respectively.

SDO Imus City also thanked the donors in their participation with the said annual project in a Facebook post. 

Health and safety protocols were strictly implemented for the whole duration of the event due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
