To mark Cavite Day and the 155th birth anniversary of Emilio Aguinaldo, Secretary Benhur Abalos of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) urged Filipinos to confront challenges with the same resolve and courage that the former president demonstrated in his time.

To commemorate Cavite Day and the 155th anniversary of the late President General Emilio Aguinaldo, Secretary Benhur Abalos of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) urged Filipinos to confront challenges with the same determination and resilience displayed by Aguinaldo in the past.

“Sana maging leksyon ang buhay ni [Emilio] Aguinaldo na basta ikaw ay naniniwala sa iyong ipinaglalaban at gustong mangyari, huwag kang matakot. Maski anong hamon kakayanin mo ito,” Abalos said in his speech.

The aforementioned celebration took place at the Aguinaldo Shrine and was presided over by officials from the DILG, Chair Emmanuel Calairo of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, Elinia Imelda Rozel Sangalang from the Cavite Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office, Cavite 1st District Representative Jolo Revilla, Kawit Mayor Emilio Angelo Aguinaldo, Cavite Board Member Ram Revilla, descendants of Emilio Aguinaldo, along with various local and provincial officials, the Philippine National Police, and the Philippine Navy.

Moreover, Abalos emphasized the importance of unity and remember the legacy of Gen. Aguinaldo such as his heroism, struggles, challenges, and triumphs that he faced during the war.

“This serves as a testament to what can be achieved when the nation comes together for a common cause. Importante ang pagkakaisa ng bawat tao,” he said.

“Magbago man ang panahon, hindi magbabago ang puso ng bawat isa. Sa kung ano ang tama, kung ano ang mali. Kung ano ang dapat gawin, ano ang hindi dapat gawin. Kung ano ang dapat ikondena at hindi dapat ikondena,” he added.
