Cavite was awarded this year’s most business-friendly local government unit (LGU) in the country by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), besting 13 other finalists in the provincial category.
Governor Jonvic Remulla accepted the award from PCCI President Benedicto Yujuico and Chairperson Alegria Limjoco on November 18 during a virtual ceremony of the 47th Philippine Business Conference and Expo.
“Rest assured that this award will inspire us further to be better and to do what is right for everyone here in the province. Business is life and we are thriving and we are doing good,” Remulla said.
Meanwhile, Imus City received a special citation for the said nationwide search under the city category.
The towns of Kawit, Carmona and Magallanes, as well as the cities of Bacoor and Dasmariñas, were also among the finalists at the municipal and city levels, respectively.
The 2021 PICC award is granted to LGUs that have effectively restored and expanded commercial operations in their area by implementing significant and sustained innovative programs, especially amidst the challenges brought about by the pandemic.
