Cavite population hits 4.3 million in 2020

Cavite’s total population has reached 4,344,829, according to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

Cavite’s total population has reached 4,344,829, according to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

Of the Philippines’ total population of 109,035,343 as of May 1, 2020, 3.98 percent of it are from Cavite, making it the most populous province in the country.

The province’s population has increased by 666,528 from 3,678,301 in 2015, which translates to an annual population growth rate of 3.57%. 

In the cities/municipalities

Of the numbers, Dasmariñas City had the biggest population in 2020 with 703,141, followed by the City of Bacoor with 664,625 and City of Imus with 496,794.

The combined population of these three localities accounted for about 42.91 percent of the population in the province.

The three least populated areas in the province were Magallanes (23,851); Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo (23,973); and Ternate (24,653).

Of the 23 towns, Gen. Trias City has the biggest increase in population since 2015, or up by 136,280 bringing its total to 450,583.

Meanwhile, the number of residents in Cavite City dropped down to 100,674 from 102,806 last 2015.
