Cavite quarantine violators exceed 30K in one week

The Cavite police accosted 33, 686 quarantine violators in the first week of August.

A total of 33,686 individuals who defied quarantine protocols were apprehended in Cavite from August 2 to 8, said provincial police chief Col. Marlon Santos in a DZBB interview as cited by Manila Bulletin.

The most number of violations recorded were the non-wearing of face shields with 13,678 violators, followed by the improper wearing of face shields with 6,238.  

Moreover, 5,055 were caught for improper wearing of face masks while 4,824 were accosted for not wearing face masks.   

Meanwhile, 3,461 individuals were cited for violating the curfew, 506 for non-observance of physical distancing, and 24 for conducting mass gathering.  

Local authorities repeatedly called on the public to follow quarantine rules to prevent the further transmission of the virus.  

Cavite is under the modified enhanced community quarantine until August 15. The province still has 6,263 active carriers of the coronavirus as of Sunday.
