“The Omicron variant is found to be more transmissible, thus, a rapid increase of confirmed COVID-19 cases has been observed in the province of Cavite and the Philippines as a whole,” the ordinance stated.

The ordinance also said that curfew hours are necessary to limit the movement of people especially in public places.

Meanwhile, Cavite’s provincial government also implemented a work-from-home setup beginning January 12 due to an increase in personnel who contracted COVID-19.

The Provincial Health Office and all provincially supervised hospitals, however, will continue to operate at full capacity.

Cavite, Metro Manila, and several other areas will remain under Alert Level 3 from January 16 to 31, 2022.
