The local government of Imus City inaugurated last June 7 a monumental tribute for former Cavite Governor Erineo “Ayong” Maliksi at the Imus National High School (INHS)
City Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi, son of the late governor, led the inauguration of the 10-feet monument together with some family members.
The ceremony started with a thanksgiving mass headed by Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Neb Nazareno.
Also present in the ceremony were Vice Mayor Ony Cantimbuhan, Department of Education – Imus Supervisor Dr. Rosemarie Torres, some city officials and school personnel.
The said event was held in conjunction with the celebration of the 50th founding anniversary of INHS.
Meanwhile, Mayor Maliksi commemorated his father’s political and educational contribution not only in the city but in the whole province of Cavite.
“Nagsisilbing pamana at gabay sa atin ang kaniyang naging misyon: ang magtaguyod ng pamayanang nagpapaunlad at kumakalinga sa taong bayan. Maraming salamat po sa inyong patuloy na pagkilala sa buhay at serbisyo ng ating mahal na Gob Ayong,” Maliksi said.
