Caviteños aged 90-99 to get P5,000 cash incentives

As part of their appreciation for elders, Cavite legislators passed an ordinance that adds benefits for citizens who reach the sterling age.

The provincial government of Cavite will provide cash incentives to nonagenarian citizens, or persons aged 90 to 99 years old.

According to Provincial Ordinance No. 343-2022, nonagenarians will get P5,000 cash gift and certificates of recognition during the Annual Elderly Filipino Week in October.

As stated in the policy, it strives to “recognize and honor the elderly who are considered sterling citizens who lead exemplary long lives that expect to be given tribute and respect.”

The nonagenarians’ gifts are in addition to the other benefits and privileges granted to them by current laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations.

To be qualified, senior citizens who reach the age of 90 must register with their local Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) for necessary identity and documents.

Also, a nonagenarian citizen must be a bona fide resident of the province and an OSCA member for at least 5 years.
