Fully-vaccinated people in Cavite reach 1M

At least 34% of the target population in Cavite was now fully immunized versus coronavirus.

The total number of Caviteños who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 has reached the 1-million mark, DOH-Calabarzon reported on Saturday.

According to its latest vaccine statistics, a total of 1,017,709 people in Cavite have already completed the vaccine doses as of October 7, accounting for at least 34% of the province’s 3,013,918 target of achieving herd immunity.

With these figures, Cavite ranked first in the region in terms of immunization programs.

Furthermore, at least 1,248,057 of the 2,265,766 total vaccine doses administered in the province were first doses.

For the breakdown, 175,387 were given to medical frontliners, 372,028 to senior citizens, 406,836 to people with comorbidities, 996,735 to economic frontliners, and 314,780 to the indigent population.

Meanwhile, the province’s daily COVID-19 cases have been decreasing, with an average of 446 cases recorded from October 3 to 9, compared to 683 cases from September 26 to October 2.

As of October 9, Cavite had reported 156,433 total cases, 4,011 of which are active, 151,239 of which have already recovered, and 1,183 of which have died from the viral respiratory disease.
