CAVITE – Several local government units (LGUs) in the province of Cavite came up with their respective gimmicks as they marked this year’s Mother’s Day.
Here’s the different ways the LGUs gave love and showed appreciation to all the moms during the special day under the new normal.
Mayor Angelo Aguinaldo spearheaded Kawit’s celebration of the special occasion through pampering Kawiteño mommies by giving them free haircuts, manicures, and pedicures.
ABC President Apple Paredes, in partnership with restaurants in Cavite City, offered to give free meals to all single moms from May 7 to May 9.

Mayor Maricel Echevarria Torres initiated a MET A WISH program, where she delivered grocery packages in pails to mothers in their municipality.
Jelyn Maliksi, wife of Imus City Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi, raffled off 40 Mother’s Day gift packs. Aside from this, she also held a Facebook live talk together with three other “super moms” in Imus.
As for the town of Naic, a municipal councilor gave away 364 cakes to department heads, chairwomen, PWD presidents, secretaries and treasurers, as well as senior citizen presidents of 30 barangays in their municipality.
