As community pantries continue to expand across the country, the City Government of Imus opened its ‘Reproductive Health’ pantry at the Velarde Health Center in Barangay Medicion 1-C on Wednesday.
This initiative is spearheaded by the City Health Office and the Imus Reproductive Wellness Center and it aims to distribute free contraceptives for its residents.
Moreover, this LGU-managed pantry offers free HIV and syphilis tests.
To recall, the Imus LGU also began their free house-to-house HIV testing last April 26, where residents no longer have to go to health centers to undergo testing.
City Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi encouraged Imusenos to join their advocacy for reproductive health and wellness.
“Ang kalusugan ay kayamanan at kabilang diyan ang inyong reproductive health, kaya’t huwag po natin itong pababayaan,” he said in a Facebook post.
