Lacson, Moreno tour Cavite ahead of May 2022 polls

As a local son of Cavite, Lacson remains optimistic that he would receive support from his fellow Cavitenos, while Moreno is trying to get the attention of this vote-rich province.

As the 2022 national elections approach, some national contenders appear to be wasting no time in persuading everyone in Cavite.

Partido Reporma standard bearer Senator Ping Lacson returned to his home province on December 3 to meet with Caviteño supporters and some local officials.

Lacson and his running mate, Senate President Tito Sotto, as well as their senatorial slate, including broadcaster Raffy Tulfo, ex-PNP Chief Guillermo Eleazar and Dr. Minguita Padilla, were welcomed in Gen. Trias City.

The Lacson-Sotto tandem also paid Governor Jonvic Remulla a visit at the provincial capitol in Trece Martires City  before heading to Tanza to meet with jeepney and tricycle operators and discuss some local issues.

The two candidates also talked with Bishop Reynaldo Evangelista at the Bishop’s House in Imus City to wrap their visit in the province.

Meanwhile, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Dr. Willie Ong, also running for president and vice president respectively, joined their supporters in Naic the next day. 

Aside from Caviteño audience, Moreno got a chance to speak with his Manila constituents who had relocated to the town.

The incumbent Manila mayor outlined his ambitions for the country, which center on restoring dignity to the lives of all Filipinos.

Also present with Moreno were Aksyon Demokratiko senatorial bets including Women’s Rights Advocate Samira Gutoc, former Quezon City councilor Jopet Sison, and Education Entrepreneur Carl Balita.

Moreno’s line-up, moreover, visited Casa Hacienda de Naic, where Andres Bonifacio was imprisoned.
