Noveleta starts COVID-19 vaccination of minors

Noveleta is Cavite’s first municipality to implement a vaccination program for minors.

The local government of Noveleta began vaccinating minors aged 12 to 17 against the COVID-19 at Primark Mall on Wednesday, November 3.

At least 50 young people with comorbidities were prioritized to receive Pfizer vaccines for the pilot run of the said immunization drive.

According to municipal health officer Dr. Maria Hilda Bucu, nearly 1,800 residents from the pediatric population were registered as of the date.

Bucu also stated that approximately 61 percent of the LGU’s target population had already been fully vaccinated, ranking the town second in the province and in Region IV-A  for having the fastest vaccination program at the municipality level.

Meanwhile, Noveleta Mayor Dino Chua encouraged parents and guardians to allow their children to be vaccinated in order to increase the level of protection in each family from COVID-19.
