Noveleta vaccinates 179 medical frontliners vs. COVID-19

Noveleta led the first coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccine rollout in Cavite’s first district on March 23.

NOVELETA, Cavite — The municipal government of Noveleta has started its COVID-19 vaccination rollout among frontliners at the Southern Tagalog Regional Hospital in Bacoor on March 23.

Municipal health officer Dr. Maria Hilda C. Buco told state media that 150 medical frontliners were inoculated with their first dose of AstraZeneca vaccines while 50 healthcare workers were given Sinovac jabs.

Buco is the first to receive the vaccine in the town.

The second batch of the vaccines provided by the national government arrived at the town on March 25. The initial batch was delivered on March 21.

Aside from the Covax-donated AstraZeneca vaccines, the local government has previously set aside P10 million to procure jabs from the British-Swedish pharmaceutical company.
