Inihain ni Senate President Migz Zubiri ang Senate Bill No. 2002 o Across the Board Wage Increase Act of 2023 na magtatakda ng P150 na dagdag-sahod sa mga empleyado sa pribadong sektor upang maibsan ang patuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng mga bilihin.

Kaugnay nito, naunang naghain ang Makabayan bloc sa Kamara ng P750 na arawang sahod ng mga manggagawa sa pribadong sektor.
“It is a policy of the State to alleviate the living conditions of the ordinary Filipino through policies that provide for a decent and humane standard of living and improved quality of life, particularly of the working class by ensuring the right of labor to its just share in the fruits of production, to guarantee the workers’ right to a living wage, and to promote social justice through the adoption of measures calculated to ensure the well-being and economic security of all the members of the community,” batay sa panukala.
“All employers in the private sector, whether agricultural or non-agricultural, regardless of capitalization and number of employees shall pay their workers an across-the-board wage increase in the sum of One Hundred Fifty Pesos (Php150.00) a day upon the effectivity of this Act,” ayon pa sa panukala.
Isinaad sa explanatory note ng Senate Bill No. 2002 na nasa P570 ang kasalukuyang daily wage ng mga mangagawa sa Metro Manila at ang pinakamababang arawang sweldo ay sa Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) na may P316 lamang.
Ipinaliwanag din sa panukala na ayon sa Ibon Foundation, kinakailangan ng isang pamilyang naninirahan sa NCR ang daily living wage na Pl,161 kung saan ay kalahati lamang nito ang kasakulukuyang arawang sahod ng isang manggagawa sa Metro Manila.
