Over 100 health workers get COVID-19 jab in General Trias

General Trias kicked off its COVID-19 immunization drive on March 19, with 120 health workers receiving vaccines developed by British-Swedish drugmaker AstraZeneca and University of Oxford.

GENERAL TRIAS, Cavite — More than 100 health workers have been inoculated with COVID-19 vaccine during the first day of vaccination rollout in the city.

Last March 19, 120 medical frontliners from the City of General Trias Doctors Medical Center received AstraZeneca vaccine shots.

The 184 vials of the vaccines from the Department of Health (DOH) arrived at the city the day before on March 18. Those donated jabs are delivered to the country from the World Health Organization-led COVAX facility earlier this month.

As of March 24, General Trias recorded 23 new COVID-19 cases, bringing to 223 the total number of active cases in the city. It also listed 2,641 recoveries and 47 deaths out of the 2,911 confirmed cases.
