A public high school teacher was shot dead by a hired gunman in front of her residence in Amadeo, Cavite last Wednesday.

According to the police report, the victim was Normita Bautista, 58, of Brgy. Salaban. She was standing outside her house around 12:10 p.m. when a motorcycle-riding assailant shot her in the head with a .45 caliber pistol. She died immediately.

The gunman fled the scene on a neon green motorcycle with his firearm, the police said.

Bautista was a doctor of philosophy and a senior high school teacher in Tagaytay City National High School.

Meanwhile, in a report of The Manila Times [https://www.manilatimes.net/2022/01/07/news/regions/teacher-shot-dead-in-cavite/1828466] , five suspects behind the murder of Bautista were arrested in a dragnet operation.

The suspects were identified as Ananda Siresena Karunasinghe, 59; Celina Cabasi de Luna, 51, a former public school teacher; Antonio Romeroso, 53; Benidic Baysan Cabasi, 43; and Mark Romeroso, 21. All are residents of Purok 3, Brgy. Lalaan II in Silang.

Amadeo Police Station SSg. Arvin Balbuena stated that they contacted the motorcycle dealer and learned that the motorcycle had been sold to the assailant the day before the incident.

A 1911 caliber 45, a shotgun with 12 bullets, an M16 rifle, and a gray hoodie jacket were among the items recovered from the suspects.
