Vice President Sara Duterte visited mothers living in Dasmariñas, Cavite last September 23 to personally talk about family planning.

Vice President Sara Duterte visited mothers living in Dasmariñas, Cavite last September 23 to personally talk about family planning.

In a press release, Duterte said family planning is a way to escape the cycle of poverty. She emphasized that mothers have to ensure they include the future of their children in their plans.

Rutchiel Moratal, 28, one of the mothers who attended Duterte’s event, reflected on the challenges of raising her children and the significance of planning to their family.

Moratal also shared that it is difficult for her and her construction worker husband to the make the ends meet in their everyday life.

“[Natutunan ko] sa family planning na kailangan muna pagplanuhan para hindi dumami nang dumami ang anak at hindi kami mahirapan sa pagpapa-aral sa mga anak namin,” she said in an interview with Office of the Vice President (OVP) media.

Aside from the talk on family planning, the OVP also distributed to around 500 students bags which contained school supplies and dental kits.
