The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday reported an additional 1,019 new cases of COVID-19, currently the new lowest recorded since start of the year.
However, the DOH explained this was registered due to lower laboratory output on Sunday, February 20.

The latest figure brings the nationwide total count of COVID-19 infections to 3,654,284 as of Tuesday.
Of these, 1.6 or 56,668 percent remain active but majority or 91.9 percent of them are either mild or asymptomatic.
The positivity rate was at 6.4 percent out of the test results from 18,177 people received on Sunday.
The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were Metro Manila with 197 or 20 percent, Calabarzon with 124 or 13 percent, and Ilocos Region with 85 or 9 percent.
Meanwhile, 2,988 survived the disease, raising the recovery count to 3,541,840.
The death toll climbed to 55,776 after 13 more fatalities were recorded.
The country’s intensive care unit (ICU) bed utilitization rate was at 29 percent. Ward beds and isolation beds across the country are 19 percent and 24 percent utilized, respectively.
Five laboratories were unable to submit their data on time.
