Pacquiao courts vote-rich Cavite

As he continues to draw supporters for his presidential bid, Sen. Manny Pacquiao once again pursued Cavite, one of the country’s vote-rich provinces and known as the bailiwick of his rival Sen. Ping Lacson.

Pacquiao, together with his wife Jinkee, started the campaign with a motorcade in the town of Gen. Mariano Alvarez and paid courtesy to some local officials.

During a meeting, he vowed to end corruption and prioritize his housing program should he win the presidency in May 9 elections.

Unlike other presidential aspirants, Pacquiao mentioned that he is intentionally not holding grand rallies, desiring to directly go down to the communities and thoroughly discuss his plans and platforms.

The athlete-turned-legislator continued his motorcade in some parts of Dasmariñas and then proceeded to Silang where he spoke before the crowd.

Unexpectedly, he became an instant godfather of some Silangueno couples during a mass wedding in the town.

Right after, Pacquiao conducted a press briefing wherein he challenged survey-frontrunner Bongbong Marcos Jr. on a one-on-one debate.

From Silang, Team Pacquiao visited the Mahogany Market in Tagaytay City and held a dialogue there with residents and market vendors.

Pacquiao concluded his trip in Cavite, where he spoke to the audience of the Philippine Councilors League – Quezon Chapter’s capacity development program, which was also held in Tagaytay City.
