The Department of Education (DepEd) has launched an investigation into allegations of sexual harassment supposedly committed by six teachers at a high school in Bacoor, Cavite.
“The allegations of sexual harassment in Bacoor National High School is very disturbing news and we are taking this very seriously. The DepEd, under the leadership of Vice President and Secretary Sara Duterte, has zero-tolerance for any form of abuse,” DepEd spokesperson Michael Poa said.
“The investigation is being handled by our Regional Office, in coordination with the Schools Division Office. It is the DepEd regional director that has disciplinary jurisdiction over teaching staff,” he added.
This came after recent social media posts made waves online wherein some students and alumni of Bacoor National High School shared their experiences with some of their teachers allegedly making sexual advances.
A viral Twitter thread by user @eexpresso_o showed screenshots of supposed conversations of the students with their teachers which are apparently loaded with sexual innuendos.

The six teachers involved have been placed on a “floating status” and were not given any teaching load pending the investigation, according to Poa.
The DepEd official also said the agency’s office in Bacoor was already informed of the incident last week.
Meanwhile, Cavite 2nd District Representative Lani Mercado-Revilla urged the victims to file a formal complaint against the teachers involved.
This has been reported to Deped Regional Office and at present ongoing investigation. The teachers involved are no longer holding classes. We will be monitoring this issue. Best if the victims/ students file formal complaints to Bacoor Schools Division Superintendent.
