Second tranche of pay hike takes effect for Calabarzon workers

Workers in the Calarbarzon region will experience an additional P27.00 up to P48.00 in their daily minimum wage as the second tranche of salary increase took effect on December 31.

Workers in the Calarbarzon region will experience an additional P27.00 up to P48.00 in their daily minimum wage as the second tranche of salary increase took effect on December 31.

This is aligned with Wage Order IVA-19, which was approved by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board to address economic issues such as high commodity prices, peso depreciation versus dollar, and assistance for poor Filipino families.

The prescribed wage increase covers “all minimum wage earners in the private sector within the region, regardless of their position, designation or status and irrespective of the method by which their wages are paid.”

Retail or service establishments who have been regularly employing not more than ten workers, and establishments adversely affected by the pandemic, natural calamities and/or human-induced disasters may apply for exemption from compliance from this wage order.
