Marcos vows support for teachers thru expanded career progression system

In his third SONA, Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. expressed his support for public school teachers under his administration’s expanded career progression system.

In his third State of the Nation Address (SONA), President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. pledged to enhance benefits and support for public school teachers through an expanded career progression system.

“We have allocated funds to finally implement the expanded career progression system for our public school teachers, which shall promote professional development and career advancement within their ranks,” Marcos said.

The President also said that the teachers may either pursue the teaching track or the school administration track to focus on their work.

“This expanded system lays two major career paths for teachers to pursue, the teaching and the school administration tracks. Each of which shall have ample career growth opportunities,” he said.

Under the expanded career progression system, Marcos promised that no teacher will retire at the Teacher I level.

“Sa madaling sabi, kung talagang ninanais natin na maging matagumpay ang hinahangad nating pagbangon sa larangan ng edukasyon, sila ang ating mga guro ang dapat nating itaguyod at patatagin,” he added.
