The Philippines’ active COVID-19 cases has increased to 13,021, pushing the nationwide count to 3,716,522.

This is so far the highest daily total since April 24, 2022, after the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed an additional 1,825 cases on Saturday, July 9.

Meanwhile, the total number of recoveries is now 3,642,862, while the death toll is already 60,639.

In the last 14 days, Quezon City recorded the highest number of COVID-19 infections with 1,494, followed by the province of Cavite with 1,125; Manila with 942; Makati City with 932, and the province of Laguna with 729.

From July 3 to 8, the country’s weekly positivity rate further spiked to 9.5 percent, which is almost double of the 5 percent threshold set by the World Health Organization.
