IMUS CITY, Cavite – The local government of Imus and the Philippine National Police (PNP) have conducted a two-day one-stop shop License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) caravan for the city’s constituents.
Held at the Imus City Sports Complex last March 3 and 4, the caravan was spearheaded by Chief of Police Gerald Sy Dee in partnership with Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi.
The LTOPF caravan encourages gun owners to register and process the renewal of their licenses as part of the campaign against loose firearms.
The Imus PNP oriented all the gun holders on the proper processing of firearms and permits and its related uses as identified in Republic Act 10591 or the “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.”
“Hangad namin ang kaligtasan ng bawat isa,” Maliksi expressed in a Facebook post.
Aside from renewal of licenses, the caravan also offered drug testing, neuro-psychiatric testing, and processing of PNP and NBI clearances.
Strict health protocols were strictly implemented for the whole duration of the event to ensure the safety of everyone.
