KAWIT, Cavite – The municipality of Kawit and San Miguel Corporation have teamed up for the free installation of Autosweep RFID stickers on vehicles traveling southbound.
In an interview with The Cavite Rising, acting Public Employment Service Officer Rosa Llido said the program was conducted last February 20 to help alleviate traffic in the town’s roads.
During the one-day event held at the Municipal Hall of Kawit, RFID stickers were installed on some 500 vehicles.
“Ang sponsor nito ay si Mayor Angelo Aguinaldo na naghahangad na matulungan ang mga taga-Kawit at taga-ibang lugar na rin na hindi makalabas sa South Luzon Expressway dahil walang sticker. Nakahingi naman siya ng tulong sa SMC upang mapatupad ito,” she said.
While the program prioritized Kawiteño drivers, it also entertained those from nearby cities such as Imus and Bacoor.
Llido said drivers who missed the event can still have their AutoSweep RFID installed in Daang Hari.
Last November, the municipality also held a similar RFID installation program for EasyTrip users for the benefit of vehicles travelling in CAVITEX.
AutoSweep RFID is exclusively used at Skyway, SLEX, NAIAX, STAR Tollway, MCX, and TPLEX.
EasyTrip RFID, on the other hand, is exclusively used at CAVITEX, NLEX, SCTEX, CALAX and C5 Link.
