Philippines 2nd happiest country in Southeast Asia, 53rd in world — report

The Philippines ranked as the second happiest country in Southeast Asia, and 53rd in the world.

The Philippines ranked as the 2nd happiest country in Southeast Asia and 53rd in the world, based in the 2024 World Happiness Report by the University of Oxford’s Wellbeing Research Center.

The country dropped 23 places from 76th place last year.

On the other hand, Finland has been hailed as the world’s happiest country for seven consecutive years, followed by Denmark, Iceland, Sweden, Israel, the Netherlands, Norway, Luxembourg, Switzerland, and Australia.

In Southeast Asia, Singapore topped the spot and it took the 30th spot worldwide

Meanwhile, the report also revealed that the least happy countries included Yemen, Zambia, Eswatini, Malawi, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Congo, Sierra Leone, Lebanon, and Afghanistan.
