The Department of Health (DOH) sent around 140,400 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to Cavite over the past two weeks, the biggest allocation in the Calabarzon region.
More than 400,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine have been deployed in the region on June 10, 15, and from June 19 to 22, according to a report by ABS-CBN News.
Of the total, around 105,300 were distributed in Laguna, 84, 240 in Rizal, 70,200 in Batangas, and 35,100 in Antipolo City.
Carmona in Cavite is also set to receive part of the vaccine doses on Friday, June 25.
Moreover, the DOH had also allocated to the region some 180,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine made by Chinese drugmaker Sinovac Biotech over the weekend.
Cavite, a neighboring province of virus epicenter Metro Manila, has 1,686 active COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday. It has so far vaccinated 202,673 residents with 74,137 already receiving their second dose.
Aside from the vaccines delivered by the DOH, the provincial government is also expecting for the arrival of 3 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine produced by US biotech firm Novavax as early as July and not later than December this year.
