PBBM OKs laws on 2 new schools in Bacoor

Bacoor, Cavite is set to have new schools in elementary and senior high after President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. signed two laws.

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcor Jr. has signed two laws namely Republic Act Nos. 12007 and 12008, which provides for the creation of new schools in Bacoor City, Cavite. 

In a statement, Marcos approved the two new laws on June 13, 2024.

According to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), RA 12007 specifies that the “Progressive Senior High School” will be established in Progressive Village 3, Brgy. Bayanan, while RA 12008 will create the “Progressive Elementary School” in Brgy. Molino 2.

The Department of Education (DepEd) will be in charge of the two schools.

“Vice President and DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte is ordered to immediately include in the department’s program the operationalization of the senior high and elementary schools,” said the PCO.

The Palace ordered Duterte to formulate the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) of the two laws within 90 days from the date of approval.

The IRR determines the organization, administration, operations, and management of the school as part of compliance with the Governance of Basic Education Act of 2001, the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013.
