In Cavite, several barangays have also put up their own makeshift pantries where residents can donate basic goods to help fellow citizens in need during these trying times.

This came after the first pantry along Maginhawa Street in Quezon City made waves online and gained media coverage last week.  The bamboo cart contains vegetables and other basic necessities which are donated and made available for pandemic-hit families.

With a central theme of “Magbigay ayon sa kakayahan, kumuha batay sa pangangailangan,” the initiative has already become a movement and has since inspired others to roll out the same project.
