The tandem of former senator Bongbong Marcos and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte visited Cavite, the second most vote-rich province in the country. They were joined by some members of their senatorial slate and several Lakas-CMD party ranking officials.

It was a sea of red-clad supporters that greeted presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his running mate Davao City Mayor Sara “Inday” Duterte during their tour in vote-rich Cavite on Thursday, December 9.

Marcos and Duterte kicked off their Cavite visit at a mall parking lot in Bacoor City where they attended a meet-and-greet event with their supporters.

Other prominent personalities who joined the rally were ranking Lakas-CMD officials such as former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez, and Senator Bong Revilla. Villar’s mother Senator Cynthia Villar, Revilla’s wife Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado – Revilla, and Cavite 2nd District Rep. Strike Revilla were also there.

The so-called Uniteam’s next stop was at the Noveleta plaza in front of the municipal hall for a short program. Marcos and Duterte arrived almost two hours late of the original plan due to the motorcade that caused moderate to heavy traffic.

Marcos carried Cavite in the 2016 polls and so did Duterte’s father President Rodrigo Duterte. The late dictator’s son, however, lost to Vice President Leni Robredo, who is also now seeking the presidency in the coming elections next year.
