The Malacañang Palace on Monday announced that work in government offices will be suspended on March 27, 2024 from 12:00 PM onwards.
According to Memorandum Circular No. 45, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, the half-day work on Holy Wednesday will allow the government employees to properly observe the Holy Week, as well as facilitate their travel to and from different regions in the country during those dates.
The directives also noted that “those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disaster and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services.”
Meanwhile, suspension of work in private companies is left to the discretion of their respective employers.
